Our Services

If you are struggling with behavioral issues with your dog, feel like something is missing in your communication and relationship with your dog, or want to raise your pup to be social and handle different experiences you are in the right place!

Focusing on behavior issues in dogs of any age and breed.

Whether it's preventing problems or addressing existing issues, our approach is based on relationship building and effective, clear, consistent communication that makes sense to the dog.

After all, our dogs can only think like dogs. It is our duty to understand them.

When it comes to behavior, we explore the underlying root causes - learning who your dog is as an individual and addressing the daily habits and routines we practice that impact our dogs. Rather than relying on obedience commands, treats, or physically controlling with force, we focus on influencing a dog mentally and changing how they FEEL in their environment.

Our coaching experiences are unique and require change, awareness, and accountability from the human.

We specialize in behavioral rehabilitation and socialization, NOT obedience. Behavioral issues are emotionally or genetically driven, therefore our approach is rooted in understanding canine behavior/psychology. In contrast, obedience training is strictly a control based approach that only addresses the physical side of the dog, without factoring in how a dog is feeling or understanding the root cause of why unhealthy behaviors have developed.

Behavioral rehabilitation includes; aggression, reactivity (in the home or on leash), anxiety, fear, as well as neurotic/destructive behaviors.  We focus on how dogs naturally think, feel, learn and communicate within a pack. We educate humans on how to be better leaders for their dogs by teaching them the psychology of the dog, the importance of hierarchical relationships, as well as helping them to identify what has inadvertently or unknowingly been done to create unwanted behaviors.

Every dog is different. The Fouche Way approach is customized to your dog's individual personality and needs. In order for you to be successful in changing your relationship and behaviors with your dog, it’s imperative you first understand your dog and why the behaviors exist to begin with.

Are you willing to change? Then we can help.

PERSONAL CONSULTATION.

Where we start with all new clients.

A detailed approach to learn more about your dog, why issues are being experienced, and what changes need to be made with continued communication to support long term, sustainable change.

Beginning with the Evaluation: scheduled for 2 hours and done on neutral territory in Virginia Beach. You drop your dog off with us and we spend extensive, one on one time with your dog to fully understand who they are and what their personality type is. We run the dog through different scenarios that are currently problematic to understand best how to work with your dog and help you reach your goals. Once the evaluation is completed, you will receive a comprehensive analysis of our observations.

The next steps are One on One Sessions: two - 2 hour in person customized one on one education sessions are scheduled 1-2 weeks apart. Sessions are done in your home, where you spend 90% of your time with your dog. Your dog’s success depends on your willingness and commitment to make changes in your relationship with your dog.

Virtual coaching is offered in between sessions.

Package cost : $1,000.

If more help is needed after completing this package, continuing education is always an option through hourly One on One Sessions (see details below), but not necessary. This is left up to your personal preference, since every situation is different.

Pack socialization and walk.

This program emphasizes appropriate socialization. A balance of freedom and self expression and boundaries and structure. We do not practice physical exhaustion, time outs, or avoidance. We focus on fulfillment through experiences, appropriate communication, learning what is not acceptable, and working through feelings. We keep our packs at an intimate number where each dog receives the individual attention and effort they so deserve. Unlike larger, corporate/big box daycares we put a lot of work into getting to know each dog well - their individual personalities, what they like and don’t like, what they struggle with, what they need to work on, and what they need from us. We take time in developing relationships with each of them, building trust, and creating safety for each individual, which creates safety in the pack. We learn about the individual dog and work together as a group. As a pack. Many of our members are dogs who wouldn’t fit in a regular daycare and we welcome them for that! This way of being with the dogs is much more personalized and requires a lot more awareness and energy. As a result, our pack members experience rehabilitation and so much growth within the program and at home.

Your dog's day will start with us by being collected from home before 10am and headed to our property. Time to settle and find their balance for the day is supported, any new comers will be introduced accordingly. Once everyone has settled in, we head off for our daily structured walk, following our intuition for the day and getting a feel for how the pack is feeling will determine the day's activity, but going for a walk and working the dogs as a pack only further enriches your dog's experience and exposure. The rest of the time allows for further socialization. We leave by 1/1:30pm to commence drop offs.

Summer hours will begin 1 hour earlier due to heat.

Offered M - Th. Pack members are required to schedule on a weekly basis (minimum of 1 day/week) to ensure consistency and progress in behavior.
